How Responsible Government works?
· Responsible governments can be voted out if the elected representatives fail to please a majority of the people who voted them there in the first place. This is the democratic form of government or better known as responsible government. The voters would elect a legislative assembly that would advise the executive council on laws they wished. The council had a direct influence on the governor who appointed the legislative council.
How the old systemof government worked? The British Government (in england) appoints a governor and this governor carries the laws and wishes of the British Government. He appoints a legislative and executive council. The voters would elect a legislative assembly but it had little power because the laws could be vetoed by executive and legislative councils.
